From the 1970s to the 1990s, Cady designed and wove silk cloth. She returned to college in 1994 and gained a BA and MA in Visual Art. She has since worked in photographic media where a sense of touch is vital. The place and importance of things in our lives fascinates her, particularly in relation to emigration and Empire. She is inspired by writing and found words. Words are often present in the final piece. Cady has worked in India, America, and the UK, using large pinhole cameras, film, and digital media.
